3D Scanning Chicago

Here at Met-L-Flo, we have been offering Additive Manufacturing for over 25 years. Prior to Additive Manufacturing, we were a consulting firm for the metal forging industry. Over the years our services continued to grow into 3D scanning and printing processes to develop prototypes. Our prototyping methods include SLA, SLS, FDM, and more.

We are able to accomplish these prototypes thanks to 3D scanning and printing. When an object is scanned, the shape is captured digitally using a laser. There is no physical contact made so you don’t have to worry about your object getting damaged. After the object has been scanned, it appears digitally with multiple points outlining the object. 3D scanning is exceptionally accurate and allows you to digitally scale down the size of the object.

If you have any questions about 3D scanning in Chicago or would like more information about our other services, call us today at 1-800-MET-L-FLO. You can also fill out the contact form located on this page and one of our experienced associates will get back to you shortly.

Professional 3D Scanning Chicago

Before your object is printed in 3D it has to be scanned first. Of course, you need to have the object readily available first. However, if you don’t have the object ready or even created, we are able to design an idea or concept that does not exist yet. 3D scanning also allows for alterations and adjustments to be made to your current design.

3D scanning is utilized for many of our prototyping methods. It is particularly useful for rotational moldings and castings. This process allows for a variety of geometries and applications, and is perfect for hollow concepts or designs such as bottles, tanks, tubes, and more.
