COVID-19 brought to surface public health and economic consequences at a scale that was not experienced in many decades. Medical supply and equipment shortages called on additive manufacturing and 3D printing to help fill their inventory. From PPE to sophisticated respirators and ventilators, the AM community stepped in to slow the spread of COVID-19. 

This fireside chat will explore how organizations applied Additive Manufacturing and 3D printing to address medical supply challenges. The panel will be made of Medical AM experts to share their Rapid Medical response story. Following the panel, the DDM Advisory Team will discuss the 2021 Digital Manufacturing Challenge theme, RAPID Medical Response, and take questions from student teams and faculty.
