FDM-Fused Deposition Modeling

Met-L-Flo 3D Printing Services

FDM is the perfect solution to a variety of problems:

For Example:

  • Complex Geometries
  • Composite Layup Tools
  • End-Use Parts
  • Extreme Conditions (Dependent on Material and Geometries)
    • High Heat Environments
    • High-Stress Environments
    • Chemical Environments
  • Jigs and Fixtures
  • Low Volume Production Parts
  • Modeling
  • Production Aids

There are many industries we work with that utilize our FDM technology including but not limited to:

  • Aerospace
  • Automotive
  • Manufacturing
  • Medical
FDM or Fused Deposition Modeling is one of the most common forms of 3D printing. Most commonly seen as tabletop 3D printers. FDM starts with a software process that includes an STP file or STL file

The process continues by heating and extruding a thin filament of thermoplastic to create parts layer by layer. Heat is important because it helps fuse and cures the layers, strengthening the structural integrity of the part.

FDM is great when it comes to printing complex 3D parts that require high-performance material properties. At Met-L- Flo, Inc., we have a wide variety of FDM materials to assure the best match for your custom FDM parts.

We utilize industrial FDM printers to maintain quality and integrity of our produced parts.

Some materials do require a material change fee. If you are interested to see how our FDM technology can assist you on your next project give us a call at (630)409-9860 or email us at info@metlflo.com.
